Diana Kastenbaum, CEO of Pinnacle Manufacturing Company Inc. in Batavia, has announced her candidacy for the United States Congress.
According to a campaign press release, Kastenbaum, a Democrat, is running for New York’s 27th Congressional District. The district includes all of Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, and Livingston counties, as well as portions of Erie, Monroe, Niagara, and Ontario counties.
Kastenbaum said her background as a small-business owner has given her firsthand insight into the challenges facing working- and middle-class families across Western New York.
“As a small business owner from Batavia, I understand the realities facing middle-class families,” Kastenbaum said. “Drawing on my years of experience as a businesswoman, I will bring new ideas and practical solutions to the problems we face. Western New York needs a member of Congress who will fight for good-paying jobs, reduce income inequality, make college more affordable, and expand access to affordable health care. Where Congress has failed us, I will lead.”
Pinnacle Manufacturing, a zinc and aluminum die casting company, has been owned and operated by Kastenbaum’s family since 1972. She is a graduate of The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
Kastenbaum is married to actor and comedian Hiram Kasten. Their daughter, Millicent, is a senior majoring in government at Cornell University.
