DANSVILLE – A Dansville resident has been arrested following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office into an alleged incident involving a minor.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Daniel Rivera Sr., 55, was arrested and charged with forcible touching, a Class A misdemeanor.
Authorities allege that Rivera inappropriately touched the private area of a 10-year-old child in September 2015.
Rivera was arraigned in Nunda Town Court before Judge Mann and was remanded to the Livingston County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or a $2,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Portage Town Court at a later date.
The investigation and arrest were conducted by Investigator Gene Chichester of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, with assistance from Deputy Matthew Moran of the Road Patrol Division.
The case remains pending further court proceedings.
