CALEDONIA — On a cold, rainy day , the visiting York Knights soundly captured a perfect season, knocking off the Caledonia-Mumford Red Raiders 38-6.
The Knights looked promising from the kickoff, taking the first possession deep into Raider territory, but turned the ball over. The Raiders jumped on the opportunity as Bubba Leach scored on a [long] touchdown reception, putting Cal-Mum up 6-0.
York quickly jumped back, scoring on a 30-yard run by Isaac Turner.
After the two-point conversion, the Knights started to roll. Matt McFarland completed a touchdown pass to Turner, and Swede notched a 10-yard touchdown run, making the halftime score 20-6.
Swede added another 45-yard rush, and Dylan Cicero pitched in with a 65-yard scamper and York’s defense buckled down, as Riley Eliot and Jake Hamilton led the way, combining for 20 tackles and 3 sacks.
York caps off perfect, 9-0 season, sweeping both teams in the upper division championship while racking up an impressive 322 points while allowing only 86.
