YORK – A York man was arrested for the theft of his dad’s car in York on Thursday, June 3, after already being arrested that morning at the wheel of the missing vehicle in Monroe County by Rochester Police.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Timothy Eyer, 31, was arrested in Livingston County for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree for allegedly stealing his father’s car.
It was reported that Eyer had taken his father’s vehicle without his permission in the early morning hours of June 3, 2015.
Deputy Stephanie Schroeder and Sergeant Chad Draper handled the investigation which led to the arrest of Eyer. During the investigation it was discovered that Eyer was arrested by Rochester Police Department for DWI, before the car was reported stolen. The car was impounded by Rochester Police Department.
Eyer was arraigned in the Town of York Court, where he was remanded to the Livingston County Jail on $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 secured bond at the recommendation of District Attorney Greg McCaffrey.
Eyer was also arrested one year ago this month as part of a Livingston County Drug Task Force investigation and subsequent raid by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team at his home, then in Mount Morris, which resulted in several drug charges.
The stolen vehicle was the very same car in which Joseph Eyer, 29, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and DWI in February after crashing into a ditch.
