YORK — The alleged shooter of the York Easter Day assault has been arrested and charged. In addition the Telephone Road homeowner where the shooting occurred was charged as well.
According to Undersheriff James Szczesniak and Livingston County District Attorney Greg McCaffrey, the two men were charged as a result of an intensive investigation. Brandon Campbell, 34, was charged Friday evening with Attempted Robbery 2nd, a class C felony and remanded to jail on $10,000 cash bail. This afternoon Thomas Boyde, age 23, of Rochester NY was arraigned before York Town Justice Walter Purtell and charged with Assault 1st, class B felony . He too, was remanded to the Livingston County Jail on $50,000 bail.
According to a press release from Undersheriff Szczesniak the arrests were a result of multi-agency teamwork. The investigation involved members of the New York State Police and Rochester Police Department in addition to the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.
“It should be noted that the victim was shot that evening with a firearm that was illegally possessed and the activities leading to the event surrounded drug activity. As we recognize this week as National Crime Victims Week, we need to assure the public that we work towards resolve for every victim in Livingston County,”according to Undersheriff James Szczesniak. “This investigation has been resolved due to the coordinated efforts of the entire Criminal Justice system in Livingston County, Major Burgess, and District Attorney McCaffrey should be commended for the results, as well as all the members who worked under their direction.”
