LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Western New York is scheduled to have a run of spectacular airshows over the next two years.

The National Warplane Museum in Geneseo is looking forward to their summer airshow, ‘The Greatest Show on Turf,’ featuring authentic flying WWII aircraft. For the first time ever, the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station will be host to three powerful jet demonstration teams: the F-22 Raptor; U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds; and Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds. Then in 2019, the Thunderbirds will be back for the Rochester Air Show.
“The 2018 Thunder of Niagara Air Show is excited for the community and aviation enthusiasts to present a never seen before lineup of this magnitude,” said Maj. Ben Canetti, Thunder of Niagara Air Show Director. “Not only will we have the Thunderbirds, we are excited to host Canada’s elite jet demonstration team, the RCAF Snowbirds. It doesn’t stop there, joining this all-star lineup we are excited to announce that the F-22 Raptor Demo Team will also be performing.”
The National Warplane Museum’s airshow is July 13 to 15. They have not yet officially announced their line-up.
The Niagara Falls Air Show will is June 9 and 10, 2018 at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station and is free to the public. The week preceding the Air Show will feature several community events to highlight Air Force Reserve Week. 2018 is the 70th anniversary of the Air Force Reserve and Niagara has been selected to host a week of special activities that will lead up to their world-class air show.
Aug. 24 and 25 of 2019, the F-16 Fighting Falcons will take to the skies at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC).
