DANSVILLE – The annual Winter In The Village festival is set to commence Saturday, December 6. The morning-to-night festival always happens on the first Saturday of December and has seasonal thrills for all.
The Dansville Chamber of Commerce says that the Jingle Bells Walk and Run, a 5k, will begin at 10 a.m. from the Dansville Community Center, coinciding with Genesee Community Colleges’ open house. The Dansville Area Chamber’s Arts and Crafts Show and Sale will begin at the Dansville Town Hall at 1o a.m., and won’t be over until 7 p.m.
Many downtown businesses and restaurants offer sales, specials, and special entertainment for the day. Beautiful ice sculptures will grace downtown Dansville, and ReMax Realty will have outdoor heat lamps when it gets chilly.
Plus, you can grab a bite to eat from a wide variety of restaurants, and a few select food trucks have even been invited to this year’s event. Music will be played at the Genesee Valley Credit Union all day.
Santa will visit Shenanigan’s on Main Street at 1 p.m., and fire trucks will parade down Main Street at 4 p.m. And of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus wouldn’t miss the famous and fabulous Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Church Park at 5 p.m., courtesy of the Lions Club.
A winter Wine Walk will also start at 5:30 p.m. from the Dansville Chamber of Commerce office.
