LIVONIA – Locals from on and around Conesus Lake flocked Vitale Park for the ‘Anything Floats’ Regatta on Saturday to support the Chip Holt Nature Center and its programs protecting the lake.
Eight boats, built of recycled materials by local residents, raced in two heats of four boats each. The winners of the several awards are:
First Place: ‘S.S. Gabrick,’ entered from Livonia by Fred Glaser, Dennis Glaser, and Emma Glaser.
Second Place: ‘2 Families/1 Cottage,’ entered from Lakeville by Michael Bonawitt, Zac Bischoping, Alex Bischoping, Sam Bonawitt, and Stephanie Mattice.
Third Place: ‘S.S. Mimi,’ entered from Conesus by Deb Gustafson and Laurie Jonasse.
Most Creative Award: ‘Birthday Cake,’ entered from Livonia by Barbara Drake and Michelle Miller.
Titanic Award: ‘S.S. Lakeville,’ entered by the Lakeville Fire Department by Austin Zobel and Darcy Joslyn.
Other participants were the ‘Interceptor,’ entered from Livonia by Tessa Artruc and Barb Schreiner; ‘Water Strider,’ entered from Conesus by Aaron Faulkenberry and Gabrielle Sheeley; and ‘Hope It Floats,’ entered from Geneseo by Charles Doerflinger and Chas Doerflinger.
