A Strong Memorial Hospital Official confirmed that Michaela Murphy,17, has been released from the hospital. Hospital Officials report that Joanne Krutchen has been transported to another hospital to undergo rehabilitation.
CALEDONIA — A victim in the tragic Wheatland crash, Joanne Krutchen has been released from Strong Memorial Hospital.
Krutchen, 20, was one of two survivors involved in a fatal car crash that occurred in Wheatland on July 16, and is a former student in Caledonia-Mumford School District.
The fatal accident killed three, Taylor Binnert, 21, Christopher Peterson, 20, and Emily Peterson, 17.
Binnert was driving when her Jeep was broadsided by a tractor-trailer at the intersection of North Road and Riga-Mumford Road. Sheriff’s deputies report that it appeared Binnert thought the intersection was a four-way stop, and proceeded into the truck’s path.
Binnert and Christopher Peterson were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Emily Peterson died several days later at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Michaela Murphy, 17, as well as Krutchen suffered serious injuries as they were ejected from the vehicle.
Murphy remains at Strong Memorial Hospital under satisfactory condition.
