LIVINGSTON COUNTY — One of the two smiling thieves charged back in October with numerous burglary counts, is not smiling now that he is facing a lengthy state prison sentence for his alleged crimes.
Tyler Carpenter, 19, appeared in court along with his lawyer, Marcea Clark Tetamore, where the D.A.’s Office presented an offer of a ple-deal that would satisfy the 26 burglary counts with an 8-year state prison sentence.
Carpenter was charged with allegedly ransacking multiple camp sites and rural homes along with James M. Erb, 19, in October. The alleged bandits allegedly hit homes southern Livingston, northern Allegany, and eastern Wyoming Counties.
Carpenter’s next court date is scheduled for Feb.
