On July 7, after acting on a tip that the suspect was possibly using fictitious license plates, the Livingston County Sheriff’s office began an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Serena L. Murphy, 52, of West Sparta/Nunda on felony charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, as well as numerous violations of the New York Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Murphy was arrested and transported to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing. The District Attorney’s office was contacted in regard to bail due to the felony level charges. It was recommended Murphy be released since the offenses did not qualify for bail under the New York State Justice Reform Act.
As a result, Murphy was issued an appearance ticket with a future court date, and released.
