A fire on Monday, Jan. 23 significantly damaged a 2-story house with attached garage located at 2870 Conn Rd., West Bloomfield.
The fire broke out Monday morning about 11 a.m., when two adults were home. The fire apparently originated in a car in the attached one story garage, completely destroying the garage and all the contents and spreading to the house, significantly damaging the residence. An adult dog was rescued, but two pet cats are missing.
The American Red Cross was called to help the residents. West Bloomfield and Ionia Fire Departments, assisted by other local fire departments, quickly extinguished the fire, which was already a working fire when they arrived. Investigation into the fire is continuing.
