According to the Village of Geneseo’s Deputy Village Clerk, as of this morning the Village had isolated the water main break in the yard of the county court house at the top of Court Street and were getting the necessary parts to make the repairs. The Village was working with the County, High School, SUNY Geneseo, Town of York, Fire Chief and any residents that had called.

Water pressure dropped pretty much throughout the Village Monday afternoon. It took about 45 minutes to isolate the leak. The pressure was affected but did not reach a dangerously low level. The pressure was restored but there have been complaints of dirty or cloudy water. The Village was hoping to have the necessary repairs completed by the end of the day. No one should be without water at this point. The water is chlorinated and safe to drink although it may look cloudy or discolored.
