CASTILE – The beautiful, powerful falls at Letchworth State Park draw thousands of visitors through the summer.
But what about the park’s winter activity? We spoke with Letchworth State Park’s naturalist Doug Bassett to learn more about the falls, their winter moods, and the park’s programs headed into the spring.
About 1,000 cubic feet of water surge over the falls per second. Its waters support some 50 kinds of fish, and unique species of ferns flourish in the constant mist of the falls.
