Thursday, Oct. 1 is the day of the community vote on a referendum for a new transportation facility which be built adjacent to the K-12 campus on Avon Geneseo Road to replace the current bus garage located on South Street in the Village.
“The facility that exists on 20A was built in the 1940’s, and a t that time the school was just down the road in the Doty and Welles buildings that are now part of the SUNY campus,” said Geneseo superintendent Tim Hayes. “Now we’re two miles away. The buses in those days, the big ones, held 38 kids, now our buses hold 66 kids and we still use the same facility.”
The vote will close at 9 p.m. at Geneseo Cehtral School on Avon Geneseo Road.
