GENESEO – A red-hot competition saw the Village Tavern once again come out on top of the annual Wingfest.
Fewer than 10 votes separated the top three contestants: the Tavern, Studio North (Campus Auxiliary Services), and Giovanna’s Pizza. The field also included the Three Legged Pig and Intermissions Bar and Grill. The hosts of the event, the Association for the Preservation of Geneseo (APOG) provided contestants with three cases of 280 wings each the day before the competition, to be sauced, served and judged at the competition.
“It was very competetive and we thank all of the participating restaurants,” said Kurt Cylke with APOG. “APOG is appreciative of the Garden Club for and the Livingston County Historical Society for joining us on Center Street today and of course we appreciate the opportunity to partner with the College’s Alumni Association.”
Groveland Station volunteered to play live for the entire event.
Wingfest’s proceeds go to APOG, whose chief project now is the restoration of the stone wall at the border of the Wadsworth Homestead, a campaign that they call the ‘Save the Wall.’
