DANSVILLE — The Dansville Village Board voted by a 3-2 margin to approve two vendors representing Edward Jones, a financial brokerage firm, to selling their services door-to-door in the village.
The vendors, which are permitted to go door-to-door during specific hours, will be approaching residents about financial investments.
“We usually see something like this county wide and it’s nice to know who is out there rather then just the people sneaking through the Village going door-to-door.” said Trustee Dan Rittenhouse. “They can always be revoked at any point if they are not adhering to the regulations.”
According to the mayor the vendors should be carrying their permit at all times so that residents know that they have been permitted to sell door-to-door.
Edward Jones currently does not have store front office in the Dansville Village at this time, there is one in Avon though.
