SAHLEN’S STADIUM – The Red Jacket Indians powered past the Avon Braves 52-6 in Saturday afternoon’s Class D/DD final.

Early in the first quarter, Red Jacket senior Kory Fogarty scored a touchdown. After a successful two point conversion, the Indians led 8-0. The Indians scored again early in the second quarter thanks to the efforts of junior Sean Sheets. Fogarty completed the two point conversion to make it 16-0. Sheets scored another touchdown with 1:01 remaining in the first half to bring the score to 22-0.
The Indians increased their lead to 28-0 with 9:06 remaining in the 3rd quarter when senior Andrew Ogrodowski ran one into the end zone. A few minutes later, junior Sean Sheets ran in another, followed by a 2-point conversion, to bring the score to 36-0.
The Indians continued to pile it on in the 4th. Junior Daniel Colasurdo ran one in, followed a few minutes later by junior Tyler Gardner to make it 52-0. The Braves finally got on the board with 3:16 remaining when senior Dakota Lutz powered his way into the end zone.
The Indians’ stifling defense led to three interceptions in the first half alone. Junior Sean Sheets snatched two and senior Andrew North grabbed one of his own. Senior Glenn Austin played a key defensive role for the Indians with two sacks on the night.
