LIVONIA — The Livonia Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season this afternoon to the Bath Haverling Rams, 45-27.

Both teams had a 5-0 record coming in to this match.
“We knew coming in it would be tough,” Head Coach John Gammon said. “We did a good job stopping their runs, but gave up too many plays early. A couple of turnovers put us too far behind.”
7:19 into the first quarter, Bath scored a touchdown and paired it with a two yard conversion. This was matched in the second quarter by a 15 yard touchdown from junior Ethan Perham, bringing the score to 8-6. The battle continued as the Rams scored another touchdown/ two point conversion with 4 minutes left in the quarter. The Bulldogs refused to let up, as senior Josh Henderson had a 65 yard touchdown of his own. The Rams ended the half with another vicious touchdown/ two point conversion combination, pushing their lead to 24-12.
The Rams continued their onslaught with another combination with 5 minutes remaining in the third, taking them to a 32-12 lead. The Bulldogs bit back, with Henderson securing another touchdown, and the extra point from senior Jack Horan.
Bath took another touchdown with 5 minutes remaining in the final quarter, taking the score to 38-19. Two minutes later, the Rams landed another touchdown, with a kick to boot. The Bulldogs made one final push, when junior Jon Greely scored a 64 yard touchdown, accompanied by a two point conversion scored by freshman Matt Hyde.
The Bulldogs are now 5-1 in the season, the Rams 6-0.
The Bulldogs will play again next Friday, October 17 against Dansville. The match will begin at 7:30 p.m in Dansville.
