LIVONIA – The Livonia Bulldogs Varsity Cross Country team had a great showing at their home meet Tuesday evening. Bath, Notre Dame, Oakfield-Alabama and Wheatland Chili showed up to challenge the Bulldogs.
The Women’s Team trumped all opposition as they put 5 of their runners in the top 8 during the 5,000 meter race. The Men’s Team landed the same result, placing top of their competition for the race.
“The kids had a lot of heart,” said Coach Dave Crab. “We didn’t expect to beat Oakfield. We also had to pull our top girl, and they still won.”
The Women’s Team was led by Molly Stewart, taking third in the Women’s race. MacKenzie Ferlicca, Madelyn Pope, Laurence Leinders, and Audrey Weber, took places 4, 6, 7, and 8 respectively.
Aaron Faulkenberry led the charge for the men, placing 2nd in the Men’s Race. Connor Wilkins followed, placing 8th for the Bulldogs. Dean Damon, Franz Leinders, and Trevor Horan rounded out the top 5, placing 9th, 14th, and 18th respectively.
The Bulldogs race again Saturday, September 20 at Victor High School. The invitational start time is TBD.
