CALEDONIA – Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty says that Saturday’s structure fire at Commodity Resource Corporation located at 2772 LeRoy-Caledonia Road has completely destroyed the main building of the business, and is currently under investigation.

According to a press release from the Sheriff Dougherty, the Sheriff’s Office 911 call center received an emergency call regarding a fire alarm at the Commodity Resource Corporation on Saturday, November 1, at 11:07 p.m. Units arriving on scene found that the entire structure of the business was completely engulfed in flames.
First responders with Genesee Valley EMS and Caledonia Ambulance said on scene that fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Employees at the plant said that it is rare that someone works on weekends at the plant.
The Sheriff added that two dozen fire departments worked together to control the raging fire, which cast an eerie orange glow over the cloudy, drizzly Caledonia night sky. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation was also on scene.
Units responded to the scene from the CaledoniaFire Dept, Perry Center Fire Dept, East Avon Fire Dept, Avon Fire Dept, Mumford Fire Dept, Stafford Fire Dept, Leicester Fire Dept, York Fire Dept, LeRoy Fire Dept, Pavilion Fire Dept, Bergen Fire Dept, Mount Morris Fire Dept, Bethany Fire Dept, Cliffton Fire Dept, Churchville Fire Dept, Perry Fire Dept, Mendon Fire Dept, Brockport Fire Dept, Wyoming Fire Dept, Scottsville Fire Dept, Spencerport Fire Dept, Cuylerville Fire Dept, and Chili Fire Dept.
Sheriff Dougherty added that the main building itself is a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and Livingston County Emergency Management Fire Investigators.
