At about 8:20p.m., the car was passing the school on Genesee Street and suddenly veered to the shoulder, colliding with multiple parked vehicles. The incident was apparently caused by driver inattention.
“It appears that the driver was putting her purse away and hit a few parked cars,” said Chief Deputy Matthew Burgess of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. “Fortunately, there was no significant injury.”
Multiple Fire and EMS crews responded to the scene and transported the driver and her passenger to the hospital to be thoroughly checked for injuries. Neither occupant was considered seriously injured. None of the parked vehicles involved in the accident were occupied.
Onlookers said on Facebook that they could hear the crash from the football field.
About a dozen Fire and EMS responders promptly secured the area, transported the victims, and directed traffic.
