GENESEO — The United Way of Livingston County has teamed up with Wegmans to put on the first-annual “Day of Caring” this Thursday.
United Way staff and volunteers, volunteers from Wegmans, Frontier, Five Star Bank, Bank of Castile, and members of the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Livingston class will meet at Highland Park at 8:30 a.m. for a kick-off breakfast provided by United Way, according to Karen Rumfola, the Regional Director at United Way of Livingston County.
Volunteers plan to work on community service projects from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the village park in Geneseo, the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, The Arc of Livingston-Wyoming residents home, and Livingston County Historical Society and Museum in Geneseo, before returning to Highland Park for a wrap-up celebration and lunch from Wegmans.
Rumfola said the “Day of Caring” will be an annual event organized by United Way and Wegmans. She hopes to add additional companies in the future.
