LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Current Livingston County Undersheriff Jim Szczesniak has turned in his retirement papers.
“December 27th will be my last day as a member of the Livingston County Sheriffs office,” Szczesniak said Friday. “I’m going to enjoy my time with family and will look at other opportunities.”
Undersheriff Szczesniak has served in the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department for 28 years. This past election season he ran for Sheriff, and was narrowly defeated by incumbent Investigator Tom Dougherty.
“At any time, when you separate after a long career you have mixed emotions,” said Szczesniak. “Great friends and the community have been very kind to me and my family. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office has provided me with great opportunities.”
