U.S. Marshal Charles Salina announced today that a man wanted in connection with the stabbing death of a 55-year-old Pennsylvania man has been apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Rochester.
Sabr Cree Ellis, 21, of Rochester, NY, is accused in the death of Anthony Koontz in Clairton, PA, on January 21, 2021. 911 was called to the victim’s residence at approximately 1:30 pm on Thursday afternoon. The defendant was located and taken into custody at approximately 7:00 pm Thursday evening in Rochester. Ellis will be returned to Allegheny County where he will face local charges, including criminal homicide.
The Fugitive Task Force was assisted in the apprehension of the defendant by the Rochester Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit and Clinton Section, and the New York State Police GIVE Unit.
