AVON – Two men from Wellsville, NY were arrested for heroin possession on Lakeville Road after a traffic stop by Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies and a canine officer.
According to a press release from Livingston County Undersheriff Matthew Bean, Sheriff Thomas Dougherty advises that Mark Dowd, 22, and his passenger, Jonathan Prescott, 24, were arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, an A misdemeanor, for possessing three bags of heroin each.
Deputy Brandan Flickner made a traffic stop on Dowd, the driver, for an equipment violation, Inadequate Exhaust and Driver’s View Obstructed as he was operating a Black 2002 Dodge Neon southbound on Lakeville Road.
During the course of the traffic stop, it was found that Dowd and Prescott were in possession of three bags of heroin each.
Both Dowd and Prescott was taken into custody, processed and released with a future court action.
Assisting in the investigation was Deputy Caleb Cutting and Deputy Ryan Swanson with his K-9 partner Gibbs, who is certified in narcotics detection.
