GROVELAND – A man and a woman were injured when their motorcycle rolled into a steep ravine at the intersection of Hunt Hill Road and Barber Hill Road Wednesday evening.
According to first responders on scene, one of the riders suffered broken bones and a rope rescue team was needed to pull at least one of the victims back to the road.
Neither victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, which occurred just before 7:20 p.m.
The motorcycle was badly damaged in the fall.
Mercy Flight was called to the scene.
Traffic was closed at the intersection during the rope rescue.
Firefighters with the Groveland Fire Department and Mount Morris Fire Department responded to the scene alongside a Livingston County ambulance and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
As of 7:20 p.m., other emergency crews could be needed to assist.
