GENESEO – A 3-car accident near the Nines on Lakeville Road sent two people to the hospital with neck injuries, including a college student who was transporting some items, including a mattresses and bed frame, home from college.
According to first responders on scene, a Honda SUV stopped in traffic near the construction zone at the entrance to the Nines and was rear-ended by a heavily loaded Chevy Silverado loaded operated by two college students. The SUV was pushed into a third vehicle, which sustained minor damage.
The operator of the pickup and an occupant of the SUV were transported to the hospital with neck injuries.
First responders on scene added that upon impact, a bed frame traveled forward through the passengers’ area of the pickup and appears to have struck the windshield, narrowly missing the passenger.
Firefighters and ambulance crews with Geneseo Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene, assisted by Livingston County ALS and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s Deputies redirected traffic on Lakeville Road during the accident.
