SPARTA — A Hornell man and his two kids were involved in a head-on collision Sunday evening after his car traveled into the on coming traffic lane striking a Groveland woman.
According to a press release from Sheriff York, Brian Nisbet, 32, of Hornell was driving northbound on Rte 63 with his two children and went into the oncoming traffic lane striking another vehicle. The children, who were in the rear seat of the car, sustained minor injuries, but Nisbet sustained serious injuries and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.
The other vehicle was operated by Cheryl Koschara, 60, of Groveland Station, who was traveling Southbound on Rte 63. She sustained serious injuries and was taken by Helicopter-Lifenet 77 to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Both Koschara as well as Nisbet are currently under guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Medical professionals use the term “guarded” condition because the outcome of their condition is uncertain.
Sparta, Dansville, and Groveland Fire Departments were on scene along with Geneseo, Dansville, and Livingston County Ambulances and medics.
The contributing factors of the accident are still being investigated and the Sheriff’s Office did complete accident reconstruction.
