According to the Geneseo Police Department, the truck was northbound on Lakeville Road from the direction of Dewey Hill (Leicester/Mount Morris) trying to turn right to stay on Lakeville Road when it ran off the road and into the Village Park.
The driver explained to the responding officer that he slid off the road due to the icy road. The responding officer did not write the driver a ticket.
Officers notified the NYS Department of Transportation (DOT) of the damage to their sign and requested them to the scene to lay extra salt on the curve.
The Village of Geneseo was notified of the damage to the park lawn from the truck and tow.
