AVON – Three Livingston County residents, including two teenagers, were arrested on Saturday on drug charges after Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies found crack cocaine in their car and sewn into one of the teen’s clothing when she was checking into jail.
According to a press release from Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Brent Pierce, 30, of Caledonia, Brittnee Dubowyk, 19, of Lakeville, and Teara Fitchette, 19, of Avon, were arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the Fifth Degree, both misdemeanors. Fitchette was later charged with Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, a felony.
On Dec. 5 at about 11:39 p.m., Deputy Brandan Flickner of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office STOP DWI Unit stopped a vehicle on West Main Street in the Village of Avon for No/Inadequate Muffler.
The driver and passengers were identified, and Deputy Flickner allegedly smelled marijuana inside the vehicle. A search allegedly revealed approximately 56 grams of marijuana and two bags of crack cocaine in a compartment in the center console of the vehicle.
The three occupants of the vehicle were arraigned at the Village of Avon Court by Judge Peter Piampiano and remanded to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000 secured bond. All parties are to return to the Town of Avon Court at a later date.
While Fitchette was in the custody of the jail going through the intake process, two more bags of crack cocaine were allegedly located on her person sewn into an article of clothing. Deputy Flickner responded back to the Livingston County Jail and placed her back under arrest for promoting prison contraband.
Fitchette was then arraigned at the Village of Geneseo Court by Judge Bushnell for Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, a felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor. She was checked back into the Livingston County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond and is due back at the Geneseo Village Court for further proceedings on the new charges.
