MUMFORD – In true spirit and spookiness of Halloween night, Genesee Country Village and Museum will be hosting Trick-or-Treating and several Spirits of the Past Theatrical Tours.
According to a press release from Genesee Country Village and Museum, the trick-or-treating event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 25 from noon to 4 p.m. You can experience a nice autumn afternoon walking the streets of the historic village and townspeople dressed in costumes.
Feel free to bring your own trick-or-treat bags, though purple trick-or-treat bags will be provided, for collecting small trinkets and candies throughout the evening.
“Snow White” and her “Princess in Training” will be present for a meet and greet and autograph session. You can also enjoy other festive activities ranging from face painting and a holiday-themed scavenger hunt, to listening to spooky Halloween tales around a warm fire.
The Spirits of the Past Theatrical Tours is an evening program of interactive literacy tales from around 150 years ago. A costumed tour guide will guide guests by lantern light through the historic village. Each stop will have a five-minute theatrical piece based on popular novels, poems and short stories.
This year, the stories told are by Brothers Grimm. Get ready for the unique experience of theatrical tales of Snow White, Cinderella, Frau Trude, Little Red Cap, Godfather Death and many more.
These Spirits of the Past Theatrical Tours are held on the weekends of Oct. 16 to 17 and 22 to 24 at 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Special non-refundable reservations are required for the tours program, available here. Please note that you must have a tour time included on your reservation and your tour will depart promptly at the time given on your reservation. Unfortunately, museum staff cannot accommodate walk-ins for this program, so please book your tour in advance.
