PAVILION — Lee Gratwick hosted the Tree Peony Festival of Flowers in Pavilion on Saturday May 25.
Each Spring when the Tree Peonies are in bloom, Linwood opens the garden for the public and has a whole event called The Tree Peony Festival of Flowers. The Tree Peony Festival of Flowers runs for 3 weekends in May, this year the festival was extended by one day which is June 1.
“The focus is on the tree peonies because they bloom earlier than other peonies,” said Gratwick.
The summerhouse is surrounded by enclosed gardens with a view of the valley.
The turnout is approximately 150 people throughout the day. Sweet Arts Bakery located in Avon, catered The Festival of Flowers.
“For those interested, we have guided tours that last throughout the day, where people are told about the history of the house, the family, and the peonies,” said Gratwick.
Donations are appreciated, the suggested donation amount is $8, however for a guided tour the suggested donation is $12. All donations go directly to the preservation of the gardens.
