LIVINGSTON COUNTY — This past April retired Chief Deputy Keith V. Clayson, 86, from the Livingston County Sheriffs department passed away after suffering a long serious illness. The passing was compounded when last weekend his daughter, Kathleen Weed, 64, and her husband George Weed, 63, along with their pet dog, died in a horrific accident near Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
According to Livingston County Sheriff John York, the family was on their way to Livingston County to attend a memorial service in honor of their father.
in a press release Sheriff York stated that Clayson was employed as a Deputy Sheriff at the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office from July 1, 1958 until September 30, 1983 when he retired from full-time as the Chief Deputy of the agency, he continued on as a part-time Deputy for many years until he retired to Florida. they retained a home on Chaumont Bay on Lake Ontario where they spent their summers and their winters in Florida.
George and Kathleen Weed are survived by their children; son – Bryan (Janet) Weed of 50 Laurel Road, Lake Peekskill, NY 10537, daughter – Tricia Weed of 15 Allen Drive, Fountainville, PA 18923 and grandchildren Keith Weed age 10 and Jaxon Weed age 6.
A memorial service will be held in honor of retired Chief Deputy Clayson at the American Legion Post 905, 7998 School Street, Springwater, NY at 2pm on May 18, 2013.
