As this trolley ride is the only one offered in New York State, the combined New York State Museum of Transportation and the Rochester and Genesee Valley Railroad Museum invites New Yorkers to come and enjoy the fall foliage as the museums bring history back to life.
During the ride, passengers will be able to view Genesee Valley’s countryside and may spot a wild turkey, a fox, or a family of deer along the way.
While the rides are the main attraction to visitors, numerous trolley cars, diesel and steam locomotives, antique trucks and cars, horse-drawn vehicles, and exhibits populate the two museums in a hands-on experience that appeals to children and seniors alike.
Admission for the entire experience is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 65+, and $8 for children(ages 3-17).
Rides operate on Sundays only from September 15 until November 3. No reservations are required, as departures are every 30 minutes throughout the day and are included within the price of admission to the museums. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., but visitors are strongly urged to arrive by 3 p.m. to have time to see and do all that the museums have to offer.
