DANSVILLE — Jacob Wadsworth of Dansville won first place in the division II pentathlon competition at the 2018 New York State Outdoor Track and Field Championship held at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.

The pentathlon is a combination of five events- 100m high hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump, and 1500m run. Wadsworth set new personal records in both the high jump, with a height of 1.89m, and 1500m run with a time of 4 minutes, 23.59 seconds.
Wadsworth also placed fifth in the Federation competition, which combines larger Division One schools and smaller Division Two schools.
