Hello Lima, What a difference a few weeks makes. We have to adjust to the new normal for a while. Increased hand washing and social distancing are the small things we can do to help keep our hospitals from getting overwhelmed with a huge wave of COVID 19 cases.
The Town Hall is the drop off point for food donations for the food pantry. 9 to noon, 7 days a week. Simply put the food inside the west door (right off the parking lot). The pantry volunteers will take care of the rest. If you are donating $10 gift cards from HFMP, The Dollar General or Tops please put them in the drop box near the parking lot door (Town Hall).
Asbestos removal on the Town Hall façade and front foyer is in process. It will be completed before the elections on April 28th. We had to strip the
electrical conduits and lights from the building front to accommodate the work. Instead of putting the spotlights back, we have gone with a solar flag light for the American Flag. It is on the top of the pole – you can see it below the ball.
Lima Restaurants that are open for takeout: American Hotel 624-9464, Fanatics 624-2080, Jonny B’s Custom BBQ 582-PORK & Lima Family Restaurant 624-9123.
This is an excellent time to think about planting your Victory Garden. Start your seedlings now for planting after Memorial Day. You will be able to share with your neighbors when things are back to normal. I already have peppers and rosemary growing in my kitchen window…
The Town Hall is operating on reduced staffing and is open by appointment. We will accommodate your schedule. Call 582-1130 to schedule. Your call will be returned within 24 hours. If you have a Town related emergency call me on my cell phone, 585-509-1433.
Lastly, it is easy to continuously monitor the news and let the stress build up. Take some time to unwind each day. Walk, read, garden – put the phone down & turn off the TV and relax. We will get through this. See you around town.
