GENESEO — At yesterday’s town meeting, Supervisor Wadsworth announced the retirement of long time employees June Little and Carol LaVigne.
“It will be very sad to see them go; Carol and June were very dedicated workers,” commented Wadsworth.
Both Little and LaVigne served in the Office Of Assessor where Little served as the Assessor’s Clerk for 24 years and LaVigne as Sole Assessor for 33 years.
Each woman took a moment during the meeting and described working with the Town as both challenging and enjoyable. LaVigne, in her personal notice of retirement, also expressed complete confidence in her successor, Tammy Baker, assuring that she will do “an excellent job.”
Wadsworth and the Board members were all in clear agreement that both Little and LaVigne were highly valued employees who will surely be missed. Plans for further recognition (with rumors of cake) were discussed.
“When one of us retires, we always strive to show our appreciation for his or her service,” said Wadsworth.
Each notice of retirement becomes effective on October 1st.
