Town of Geneseo Renews Fire Contract with Village

GENESEO — At the board meeting on Thursday, the Geneseo Fire Contract between the Town and Village was approved.

On Oct. 11, the Geneseo Town Board adopted the 2019 Fire Contract Renewal, which the Village Board previously signed.

“To pay $150,000 a year and not have to worry about the running of that department is a good bargain,” Council Member Matthew Griffo stated.

The renewed contract will begin Jan. 1, 2019.

At this time, it is unclear how this will effect local taxes.
