GENESEO — The eyes of Geneseo Town Board members lit up as they discussed the specifics of rebuilding Long Point Park, a long standing tourism hotspot for the entire East Coast located right in the heart of Livingston County.
At Thursday’s Town Board meeting, Deputy Town Supervisor Roberta Irwin proposed ideas to improve the swimming area by possibly inserting a lap lane and making it deeper and bigger. Town Supervisor William Wadsworth also proposed the addition of a floating raft, which would likely discourage people from dangerously diving off the docks.
“I think that it’s great that we are trying different things,” said Wadsworth. “We are looking at new strategies to improve the swimming area, but we haven’t found one yet. Lets keep looking.”
