It is when we are faced with unprecedented times like these that the true strength of community and partnerships shines. At Tops Friendly Markets, our mission stands on the platform of neighbors helping neighbors, and there is no better time than now, during this time of uncertainty, to demonstrate our support of our partners at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The Ride for Roswell started out as an idea from one passionate volunteer. Mitch Flynn wanted to create a way for the entire Western New York community to take part in the fight against cancer. The first Ride was the start of a life-changing annual gathering that has become one of the largest charity cycling events in North America. Since the inaugural Ride in 1996, the event has grown from offering 3 routes to 9, introduced an international experience throughout Canada, added a pre-ride rally with the Celebration of Hope and increased its fundraising total year after year!
Tops has been a longstanding sponsor for the Ride for Roswell. Now, in celebration of the Ride’s 25th anniversary, when you purchase a container of TOPS premium churned Orange DreamCycle light, ice cream, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Roswell Park. This light vanilla ice cream is split with a creamy light orange ice cream which is both refreshing and a great addition to your family meal time. Made with no artificial flavors, no partially hydrogenated oils, and no high fructose corn syrup, you can feel great about sharing this with your family, all while giving back to Roswell.
“This is a very special year for the Ride for Roswell, so it’s just wonderful that Tops — which is such a great partner to us in so many ways — designed this ice cream to honor the Ride and its legacy while also supporting our mission. I know I speak for everyone at Roswell Park and at the Ride when I express my gratitude for Tops’ continuing relationship with us and for helping ease the cancer journey for our patients while we continue our search for a cure,” says Candace S. Johnson, PhD, President and CEO, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
