Today is Groundhog day and legend has it that if the Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow when he emerges from his burrow, there will be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t see his shadow, spring will arrive soon.
So, did Phil see his shadow? The Inner Circle, wearing their top hats, spoke to Phil in “groundhogese” (which is actually a Pennsylvania Dutch dialect) and asked him. Luckily, Phil didn’t see his shadow. That’s good news for those of us who have just survived the polar vortex. This means that spring will arrive soon!
Let’s hope Punxsutawney Phil is right.
