DANSVILLE – The current exhibit at Livingston County’s only Main Street art gallery, Dansville ArtWorks, offers diverse and colorful interpretations of the fast approaching season, all through works created by local artists.
According to a press release from Dansville Artworks, the free exhibit, Tis the Season, features personal interpretations of the approaching season using an array of paintings, sculptures, and unique 2D and 3D art created by fifteen regional artists, both new and returning to the annual exhibit.
New artists accepted for this exhibit are Bill Banker, Mark Corwine, Chriss Cowan, Colleen Johnson, Eugenia Frith Meltzer, Dick Thomas, Mert Wager, and ZiLLA’s QuEen. Returning artists are Nicole Alioto, Jackie Donohue, Jane Farrell, Daniel Nolan, Mary Skillings, Jared Steele, and Kyle Tracy. Most artworks are available for purchase.
Dansville ArtWorks gallery gift shop is freshly stocked with unique, handcrafted wood, jewelry, ceramic, glass, basketry, and fiber art pieces by nearly 20 area fine artists and craft artisans.
November also features several social and holiday events at ArtWorks headed into December.
The gallery will host their monthly mixer on Nov. 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and a performance by storyteller, Cris Riedel on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be special activities planned for Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Dansville’s own Winter in the Village on Dec. 5. Dansville ArtWorks is located at 178 Main Street in downtown Dansville, adjacent to Dogwood Trading Company. Gallery hours are Thursdays from noon to 6 p.m., Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parking is available on Main Street as well as the rear entrance in the municipal lot accessible from Main and Elizabeth Streets.
Dansville ArtWorks Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to cultivate and enhance the visual, literary and performing arts opportunities in the greater Dansville community.
