GENESEO — The SUNY Geneseo Wind Ensemble, Clarinet Choir and Saxophone Quartet will perform a free and public concert featuring two works by members in the Wind Ensemble.
According to a press release from SUNY Geneseo, the concert will be Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium.
“The program will highlight the talents of the ensembles performing, as well as the soloists,” said Ernest Lascell, Conductor and member of the College’s Department of Music.
The first piece, “Three Trombonists” by Clair Johnson, is a trombone trio with band accompaniment. The second will be “Ballade for Alto Saxophone” by Alfred Reed.
The Geneseo Wind Ensemble Concert will include “March L’Homme Arme” by Geneseo Distinguished Service Professor of Music James Walker, “A Jubilant Overture” by Alfred Reed, “Four Dance Episodes” by Gary Gilroy and “God’s Country” by Rossano Galante.
The Saxophone Quartet will be performing “Rhapsody for Saxophone Quartet” by Eric Ewazen and the Clarinet Choir will be performing “Difference of Opinion” by Robert Roden.
