NYLON – Jane Flasch with news partner 13WHAM reports from the courtroom in Monroe County that Thomas Johnson III, who until this afternoon was considered innocent of the murder of Rochester Police Officer Daryl Pierson, was found guilty of the top count, Aggravated Murder, a class A-I felony, as well as one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree.
Justice Thomas Moran, former Livingston County District Attorney, presided over the case.
Johnson is represented by attorney James Hinman and was prosecuted by Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley.
Sentencing will be June 30, with maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
