GENESEO – Geneseo Police are warning local residents of a string of thefts from unlocked cars in Woodbine Park in the Village.
According to a press release from Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian, police received numerous complaints of items missing from unlocked cars on Friday, March 11.
“The items taken varied from change to clothes to a bookbag to craftsman tools,” said Osganian. “Some cars had nothing taken but someone went through the inside of the car. We also checked cars in other driveways that weren’t touched and had valuables like GPS units that were not taken.”
The Geneseo Police Department reminds all our residents to lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of sight, and to lock doors and windows to their homes when away from home or sleeping.
Geneseo residents who see suspicious activity in their neighborhood or believe they have information that could assist police in their investigation are asked to call Geneseo Police at (585) 243-2420. All information can be treated as confidential.
