DANSVILLE – The Dansville Festival of Balloons brought its season to an end on Monday, November 19 as they held a reception for 21 local groups. NYSFOB president Dorothy Hotchkiss began the evening in greeting those present ad thanking the community in general for its support of the festival. The festival year welcomed over 28,000 guests.
For more than a decade it has been the festival’s policy to share a portion of the weekend profit with area organizations. since 2001 more than $200,000 has been given to a variety of organizations and agencies.
This year’s success allowed the festival committee to designate $13,000 for distribution to 21 local organizations including UR Medicine-Noyes Health, Dansville Food Pantry, Dansville Samaritan Fund, American Legion Daniel Goho Post #87, Vincent House, Chances & Changes, Rinkers Readers, Suzanne’s Comfort Home, Dansville Art Works, Theresa House, Noyes Health Life Line, Dansville Varsity Football, Stoney Brook Foundation, Dansville Fire Department, Santas Hat, Dansville Public Library, Dansville
Varsity Boys Soccer CANN (Community Action Needs Network), Dansville Ambulance, Dansville National Junior and Senior Honor Society, Faith in Action/Catholic Charities. Funds have been set aside to be used as an award at graduation for a 2019 high school senior who has given back to the community as a volunteer.
