GENESEO – A taxi carrying at least one passenger lost control in the rain on 390 Northbound on Thursday, left the road and came to a rest in the median near Exit 8.
Deep, muddy tracks in the wet grass could be seen leading from the road to the taxi, which had crossed a ditch before coming to rest.
According to first responders, the accident was caused by hydroplaning, and the taxi was carrying a passenger at the time.
No injuries were reported in connection to the accident.
The taxi was from Totem Taxi, which is based in Elmira and Corning and serves surrounding areas in New York State.
Firefighters and ambulance crews with Geneseo Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene, assisted by Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies.
