LIVONIA – A local man was arrested for DWAI after requesting to a Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputy to his home to file a traffic complaint and pulling into his own driveway while allegedly under the influence of a drug.
According to a press release from Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Adam Fuetterer, 30, was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.

On November 2 at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from Fuetterer stating that he wished to meet with a Deputy regarding a traffic complaint. Sheriff’s Deputy Brandan Flickner of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office STOP DWI Unit was dispatched to meet with him at his residence in Livonia.
Fuetterer was not there when Deputy Flickner arrived, but pulled into the driveway shortly thereafter. While speaking about Fuetterer’s traffic complaint, Deputy Flickner, who is a certified Drug Recognition Expert, observed that Fuetterer had signs of drug impairment.
A Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs investigation was initiated and Fuetterer was put through a series of field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the roadside investigation, Fuetterer was placed under arrest for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.
A second Drug Recognition Expert Officer, Jeffrey Faugh of the Dansville Police Department, performed a drug evaluation on Fuetterer. At the conclusion of the drug evaluation, it was Officer Faugh’s expert opinion Fuetterer was under the influence of a drug and could not operate a vehicle safely. Fuetterer refused to submit to a urine sample, resulting in a Refusal charge and driver’s license suspension.
Fuetterer was then transported to Livonia Town Court and arraigned before Judge Mahoney. Judge Mahoney suspended Fuetterer’s license and released him on his own recognizance. Fuetterer is scheduled to return to Livonia Town Court at a later date for further proceedings.
