The Livingston County Chamber of Commerce and Arc GLOW have made the difficult decision that Taste of Livingston which was scheduled to be held on Wednesday June 1st, 2022 will be canceled.
Hoping to bring the local flavors and flair of Livingston County to the people of Western New York, the event committee stated this would be an “all or nothing” year. We began planning a reimagined event at the end of 2021 that would bring food, fun, and music all together to Camp Stella Maris located in Livonia.
As our plans began to make way, we quickly realized the major impact that COVID-19 was still having on people and businesses in our community.
Chamber President and CEO Laura Lane mentioned “As restaurants in the area continue to navigate their recovery from COVID 19, workforce challenges continue top concern. At this time, restaurants and other Taste of Livingston vendors are concentrating efforts on rebuilding and growing their brick and mortar locations. We encourage folks to continue their dine in and take out purchases and support all local eateries.”
Martin Miskell, CEO of Arc GLOW further adds “Our goal of this event is to have a mutually beneficial relationship for all partners involved. It was apparent to see our restaurant partners are working hard to get back to “normal” dining experience of our past. I appreciate all of the community business support extending themselves to help us.”
Arc GLOW and the Livingston County Chamber of Commerce want local restaurants to be successful at their locations and this was fundamental in our decision to cancel this year’s offsite event.
Chamber and Arc GLOW officials encourage folks who would have otherwise planned to attend the Taste of Livingston to get out on Wednesday, June 1st and create their own Taste of Livingston by choosing a restaurant, brewery, cidery or winery to patronize that evening.
We look forward to 2023 and bringing this partnership back to fruition and introducing each of you to this newly refreshed event.
